JOB SUMMARY:
The EMS Instructor is a vital part of the Parker County Hospital District team. The EMS Instructor provides instruction for PHCD’s educational offerings, and participates in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of PCHD educational program offerings.
  • Prepares and delivers instruction either at the PCHD facilities or off-site, as needed.
  • Supervises the activities of course participants during instructional time.
  • Evaluates learner performance, provides feedback, and develops learner remediation plans.
  • Fulfills PCHD educational program administrative requirements, to include calculation and submission of grades, maintenance of program, course, and student/participant records, and preparation and submission of data and reports.
  • Participates in continuing professional development programs as appropriate.
  • Adheres to established PCHD and departmental policies and procedures and relevant quality and safety standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of EMS educational program accreditation processes and standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Associate’s degree in science, Education, Training, HR or related field-Preferred
  • Current Texas certification or licensure—EMTP-Required
  • BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, AMLS, and PALS with Instructor Status required, or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Texas Instructor certification Required, or able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum three (3) years of healthcare experience required; five (5) years preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience preferred.
