JOB SUMMARY:
The EMS Instructor is a vital part of the Parker County Hospital District team. The EMS Instructor provides instruction for PHCD’s educational offerings, and participates in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of PCHD educational program offerings.
- Prepares and delivers instruction either at the PCHD facilities or off-site, as needed.
- Supervises the activities of course participants during instructional time.
- Evaluates learner performance, provides feedback, and develops learner remediation plans.
- Fulfills PCHD educational program administrative requirements, to include calculation and submission of grades, maintenance of program, course, and student/participant records, and preparation and submission of data and reports.
- Participates in continuing professional development programs as appropriate.
- Adheres to established PCHD and departmental policies and procedures and relevant quality and safety standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma required
- Associate’s degree in science, Education, Training, HR or related field-Preferred
- Current Texas certification or licensure—EMTP-Required
- BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, AMLS, and PALS with Instructor Status required, or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Texas Instructor certification Required, or able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum three (3) years of healthcare experience required; five (5) years preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience preferred.
