Job Summary:
The Clinic Receptionist works as an integral part of the RHC to ensure that patients and other guests are welcomed into the clinic in a professional and courteous manner; that all patient information is entered with efficiency and accuracy into the EMR system according to protocol; all incoming paperwork is documented, processed and stored in the appropriate manner and to provide clinical support in the daily patient care activities as directed by the RHC Director. This position requires daily contact with vendors, clinic staff, insurance carriers and administrative staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients/visitors courteously
  • Answers phones in a timely manner
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Collect copay and any balances due at time of service
  • Prepare patient record for each visit
  • Verifies all patient information at time of appointment including insurance and demographics
  • Inform patient of financial responsibilities
  • Check patient in/out and schedule any follow up appointments
  • Perform data entry of patient information
  • Keep patients aware of any scheduling delays/changes
  • Provide clerical support for business office support (copies, receipts, verifications, etc.)
  • Works as part of front office team to ensure optimum patient satisfaction
  • Transfer calls/take phone messages efficiently and correctly
  • Ensure messages left in computer are complete and accurate, keeping errors/delays at a minimum
  • Prioritizes daily job duties and keeps work area clean
  • Monitor noise levels in waiting area
  • Notify management of low office supplies
  • Maintains cash draw balances accurately, according to outlined procedures
  • Ensures patient confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, caring behavior and concern when providing assistance to patients or their family members
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills
  • Should be self-motivated
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and oral
  • Ability to deal professionally, courteously and efficiently with the public
  • Should possess computer knowledge including but not limited to: EMR, Microsoft Office/Windows
  • Exhibit high ethical and professional standards
Education and Experience:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One (1) year clerical experience, preferred
  • Health care experience or certification, preferred
  • Bilingual, preferred
Salary:
  • $14.93 - $18.66
