J. Steven Welch, D.O.

Medical Director

Biography

Dr. Welch is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing for 26 years. Dr. Welch spent 8 years in outpatient family medicine followed by 12 years in geriatrics and hospice. He has been providing telemedicine services for the last 6 years. Dr. Welch is the Chief Medical Officer for the Parker County Hospital District and has served as the Local Health Authority for Parker County for the last 9 years.


Mary Grace Vaughan, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Biography

Mary Grace Vaughan, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a Family Nurse Practitioner board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has been in the healthcare industry for 14 years – 9 years as a registered nurse in the cardiac intensive care unit and 5 years as a nurse practitioner. Mary Grace graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010 from Liberty University in Virginia and then attended Drexel University in Pennsylvania where she obtained a Master of Science in Nursing in 2019. She is one of the providers with Parker County’s Telemedicine Program which serves the students and staff of 50+ schools in Parker County as well as employees of the City of Weatherford and Parker County Hospital District. Mary Grace was born in the Philippines, grew up in South Korea, and moved to the United States in 2006. She is married to her husband Daniel of 11 years, and they have three children together. Mary Grace have truly enjoyed serving the residents of Parker County through the Telemedicine Program which she believes provides excellent and comprehensive medical care that is easily accessible and affordable. Her favorite part of the Telemedicine Program is getting to see the students of Parker County and partnering with the school, school nurses, and parents in ensuring the overall wellbeing of each student. Outside of work, Mary Grace enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids play sports, serving in her local church, and/or hanging out at home. In addition to speaking English, Mary Grace is also fluent in Korean and Filipino language.

Erika Bean, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

Biography

Erika Bean has been a board-certified nurse practitioner with the Parker County Hospital District since August 2023. Prior to joining PCHD, she spent three years as a Gastroenterology NP conducting patient care and research. She was born and raised in Springtown, TX. Shortly after graduating high school, Erika joined the United States Air Force. While serving her country, she met her husband and spent 10 years traveling wherever the Air Force took them. Upon completion of her service in the Air Force, she obtained her bachelor’s in nursing in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her time as a Registered Nurse was spent in both an Intensive Care Unit and a Level I Trauma Emergency Room setting. She then completed her Master of Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Chamberlain University in Chicago, Illinois. She moved back in 2019 to raise her daughter in the great state of Texas.
